Course Justification

Coherence in sectoral trade policies is critical to foster the tradability potential of the critical sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing and services. This course provides a critical analysis of sectoral policies and implications for trade outcomes through looking at the interface between trade and key sectoral policies such as Trade and the Environment; Trade and Labour; Trade and Human Rights; International trade and policy distortions in agriculture.

Module Objectives

The objective of the course is enhancing the competence of students to examine and analyse the implications of sectoral policies within the context of overall trade policy at the national, regional and multilateral level.
